Tanzania · Our first chapter begins on the islands of Zanzibar & Mafia

A Beautiful New Chapter Begins in Tanzania

Kijaschaap explores retirement and sustainable living across Tanzania — from mainland highlands and coast to the islands. Our initial focus is the islands of Zanzibar and Mafia. Kijaschaap brings you honest information about how the proposed community model would work, and what still needs to be verified.

Our approach

Unhurried, transparent, rooted in place.

Moving abroad later in life is a big decision. We believe it deserves clear explanations rather than glossy promises. That is why everything here describes a proposed model, set out in our prospectus and subject to legal review.

The idea is simple: a Tanzanian limited company (LTD) would acquire and manage land, and residents would take part through shareholdings and land-use arrangements — while respecting Tanzanian law, local communities and the natural environment.

Zanzibar and Mafia each have their own land and administrative frameworks — Mafia Island is administered as part of mainland Tanzania — so every step will be reviewed by qualified local lawyers rather than assuming rules apply across the islands.

Island life · Heritage

Zanzibar & Mafia, thoughtfully considered.

Island life rewards good preparation. We encourage you to look closely at what supports a good daily life: healthcare access, transport and ferry links, infrastructure, cost of living, the local community and the legal and land-use due diligence specific to each island. We help you ask the right questions — and visit to see for yourself.

Retirement in Zanzibar

How it is intended to work

A shared structure, clearly explained

Tanzanian LTD

A locally registered limited company is proposed to acquire and manage land on behalf of the community.

Shareholders & land use

Participants would hold shares and agree land-use arrangements — not direct ownership of land.

Board approval

Activities and construction would be approved by the board, keeping the community coherent and sustainable.

Shared contributions

On resale, the seller would contribute 10% of the resale price to the LTD; commercial activities would contribute 10% of profits.

Permit support

The LTD would assist with immigration and work permit processes, but cannot guarantee any approval.

Subject to review

The model is described in a prospectus and remains subject to independent legal review.
